The Heart Healthy Diet

·         Eat fish twice a week.

·         Use olive and canola oil for the day’s servings of fat.

·         Stop Smoking, if you do smoke.

·         Exercise moderately but be consistent.  Aim for at least 30 minutes per day.

·         Eat at least one serving of beans or nuts ever day.

·         Eat five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables a day.

3 Cholesterol Control Tips

·         Increase fiber intake.  Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes to bring fiber intake up to an average of 20 to 30 grams per day. 

·         Slim down.  If you’re overweight, losing the excess can help your numbers.

·         Exercise regularly.  Daily aerobics can improve total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglyceride levels.   Also helps lose weight.
